Highlights

Location: Center of Historic Town of Donegal

Rooms: Family rooms and Executive Suite available

Dining: Market House Restaurant with local cuisine

Entertainment: Live music events at the Abbey Bar

“The hotel's central location in Donegal Town makes it ideal for exploring, and its vibrant two-level bar, popular with locals, certainly adds to the atmosphere; however, light sleepers should be aware of potential noise issues, and the lack of air conditioning could be a concern during warmer months. With award-winning dining and a focus on local produce, it's clear the hotel prioritizes quality, although some rooms appear to be small for larger groups. Overall, this is a lively choice for those who value entertainment and convenience, but guests should come prepared for potential discomfort.”

Excellent Service and Perfect Location

hotel assetsbeautiful roomfabulous fooddonegal charm
The receptionists are assets to the hotel. Therese gave us a beautiful room overseeing the Diamond. She told us everything about the hotel and nearby attractions. I ate in the restaurant and the food was fabulous. Lisa had a Donegal charm. The room was clean and big.
I notice noise from street, but this is expected for a Saturday. The noise inside continued after hours.
Facilities

The gym has modern equipment, including three treadmills and two stationary bikes for guest use. The pool area features twenty comfortable loungers and includes a shaded section. These amenities provide convenient options.

okay stay, some things need fixing

easy bus accessfriendly staffclean roomtemperature controldifficult lockrattling noise
the location is awesome, bus access is super easy right outside. staff was friendly and helpful, they made check-in smooth. the room was simple but clean, i appreciate that. great job on keeping it tidy!
The room got too warm and stuffy. No temperature control exists inside. opening the door with the key was a real struggle, the lock was difficult. banging and rattling noises kept me up outside all night, so annoying. i need quiet!

i noticed hallway carpets with many stains. this detracted from the overall impression. breakfast also seemed overpriced relative to the available options.

Adequate Stay with Some Issues

hallway noisedelayed buffet
The room was not as quiet as I would have liked. Noise from the hallway was noticeable late into the night. The breakfast service could be improved. I saw some delays in refilling the buffet. These issues detracted from an otherwise acceptable stay.
